My name is Lynnsey Phillips and that handsome lad pictured is my fiancé Zach. Yes, I'm planning a wedding alongside my couples this year! While he is not a photographer, he did gave a huge part in naming my business (Lionlady is his nickname for me). On a regular day, my mane of hair is quite untamed :)

Photography is my ultimate way of connecting with people. In fact, I was pretty shy in college and used to bring my camera to parties to have something to do when conversations lulled. People grew to know me through my images and I started getting commissioned for paid projects. It wasn't until I was asked to do someone's engagements that I really fell in love. Capturing people (especially the ones in love) has been the joy of my life thus far. Fun fact: anywhere I travel, I dedicate at least a half-day to photographing the people where I am.

The best part about what I do is forming relationships with all sorts of people. I actually remain friends with many of my couples. You can't form a bond and then just say goodbye when the job is done. A huge part of being your wedding photographer is learning who you are separately and who you are together. That's the majority of my job leading up to the wedding. Once we've got that connection, the imagery we create will truly represent you and the emotion you feel for each other.

my style

My style is a balance between aesthetics and the relationships I form with my couples. Before I approach any shoot, it's imperative that I get to know who I'm photographing. In order to capture the way you are together when a camera isn't around, you have to feel comfortable enough to open up those big ol' hearts of yours. When that happens, true emotion spills out and damn if those images aren't the best. So let's skip the small talk and get to the good stuff. Marriage is a big deal and there's so many reasons why you're choosing this one person. I want to know all of it.

If we work together, I won’t be some stranger. We will be friends, and I really mean that. I’ll learn your family members’ names by heart, take you out to dinner just because, and make sure you feel like gold on your wedding day. I take our relationship and my responsibilities very seriously, so you can trust that I’ll be bringing my A-game.

Over half of the weddings I photograph are not located in Seattle. The following are flat rates for different regions of the PNW and the world. The fees include enough for me to book airfare, rental cars, meals, and cover costs associated with traveling to your wedding. I find it easiest to charge a flat stipend and book my own accommodations. I am flexible - so if you have hook ups (credit card points, a place for me to stay, etc.) just say the word.

standard mileage fees apply if more than 50 miles outside Seattle

How many images will we receive from our wedding?

More than you know what to do with, trust me! The average amount is at least 500 for shorter coverage and upwards of 1000 for full day. Note that I don't put a cap on the number of images you receive. If it's a good photo, I'll deliver it!

How do we book you?

To reserve your date, I require a signed contract and 50% non-refundable retainer. It's non-refundable because once you're booked I turn away all other couples inquiring for your date.

When do you recommend a second photographer?

I'm fully comfortable shooting alone unless there are specific circumstances. Those being 1) you're getting ready in different locations 2) you have more than 130 guests 3) you're not doing a first look 4) you want two different angles of important moments (first kiss, first look, etc.)

How do you accept payment?

I can process payment through eCheck, check, or cash. You can pay by credit card but a 3% fee will be added to your invoice.

What sets you apart?

Good question! There's A LOT of talent out there for you to choose from. But I believe that choosing a photographer goes much deeper than just liking someone's work or how they price themselves. Your photographer is the person you'll interact with most on your wedding day so it's super important you like them! I go to great lengths to get to know you and provide a stellar client experience. I also respond to emails quickly and make myself available when needed. Impromptu phone calls, texts, etc. I'm your girl! Anything to help your wedding day be super chill and run smoothly.

How far in advance do you book?

For the high season (April - October) I book 9 - 12 months in advance. But in some instances I've booked two years out! So the sooner the better to ensure I'm avaialble for your date.

What's your backup process? Do you have insurance?

Yes! All wedding photographers should have liability and gear insurance. If they don't, you're playing with fire! As for your photos, I dual record the images in-camera so if one card fails, I still have everything. After the wedding, your files get backed up to three different places, one of those being the cloud. I never clear the original cards until your photos are delivered.

How long does it take and how will you deliver our photos?

For weddings, 6 - 8 weeks during high season (April - October) and 4 weeks for the rest of the year. Your images will be delivered in a downloadable online gallery. You'll also receive a handful of prints presented in a wooden box and a little gift from moi.

Can you provide photo & video?

Yes! I always remain the lead photographer and then bring on help for the videography. They are trained in my style and still handle all the editing. If you book both, you receive $500 off!
